Stopped in for a late lunch with my daughter. We grabbed a few sushi rolls for an appetizer, and I also ordered a bowl of Hot N Sour soup. I'm a hot n sour soup self proclaimed snob. Have had SO many bad bowls of this stuff, I've almost gotten to expect it. Not hear. As simple as a dish it may seem, and on every single Chinese restaurant menu, I've not had many versions that are really done well. Ming Village does it right. Perfect balance of sour, spicy and a touch sweet. Was practically licking the bottom of the bowl. Two entrée dishes were done very well, with again, some great care and preparation. I really think these folks are a notch above most of the other local Chinese take outs I've tried, and with a nice option of sushi and other dishes as well.

Tried calling Ming Village for a carry out order. No answer. Got an answering machine and was told to leave my name and phone number. My husband ended up getting there before I ever even reached anyone. Doors were locked and this establishment was closed down. What? It's been around quite a long time.

absolutely, positively delicious. the lady who served us was enthusiastic and friendly and made dinner with my friend a great experience. the vegetable dumplings were excellent and the eggplant dish was just fantastic. this place is 15 miles north of where i work, and 35 miles north of where i live, but it was worth the drive. i would come back here in an instant.

Eating in is much better than getting take-out, but even the take-out is OK. It's nice that you can get basically anything here. Chinese food, Thai food, and sushi are all on the menu. The dumplings are beyond delicious, though. That's probably my favorite thing. The only two complaints I have are that the General Tso's chicken was not spicy *at all* and it was designated as such on the menu. Also, the Philadelphia roll does not have anything other than salmon and cream cheese in it (where's the avocado or cucumber or scallions?? Normally you'll find at least ONE in there!). My husband loved the green curry and my sister-in-law says that the pepper steak is to die for. Overall this joint is a pretty good option if you're in the area.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant. After moving from Boston, I had a hard time finding a good place. There's lots of buffets and cheap takeout but the food is usually gross. Ming Village shines above the rest and is right there with the restaurants I grew up with. The vegetables are fresh, they use white meat chicken, and the service is always very friendly. My kids love coming here too.

I came here alone on a Thursday evening and the restaurant was pretty empty. Unfortunately, I still had to wait about 7 minutes before anyone noticed me and showed me to a table. The waiter did not speak English very well so I wasn't sure if he was annoyed that he had to be at work, or if he just didn't know how to express himself politely. Several times when I asked him questions he answered me in a very short tone. I ordered two rolls and an order of edamame. The edamame came out in about the right time, but the rolls took a very long time to reach my table. There were only two other tables with customers so I'm not sure what took so long. I was in the restaurant for an hour and a half - probably my longest sushi dinner ever. On the plus side, the restaurant does not have its liquor license so wine is free. I had a glass of red wine and it was actually quite good. Unfortunately, nobody every came to ask me if I would like a refill. I left the restaurant feeling like I overpaid for being neglected. :-(

Came in for a late lunch. Was promptly seated and served. Very courteous and good service. Got the chicken with garlic sauce. It was not spicy at all. Big helpings even for lunch. Need to try their sushi next time

Wonderful, wonderful. Excellent chinese food and also sushi. Staff makes you feel at home and you really can't help but to return again and again. My family has been going there for years and never had a bad experience on any level. Good for a date night or a family night.

Cannot beat it for the price. BYOB with a splendid menu and very hospitable service. The variety is splendid and tasty. Always enough leftover for a second delicious meal.

A couple weeks ago I was looking for a good sushi place to go to and ran across Ming Village on Yelp. I didn't get a chance to actually dine here until last weekend, because it's about 20 miles away from my house, but I thought I would take the trip down to West Chester to give it a try. Upon walking in, I noticed a nicely decorated interior, although the lighting was really dim. After being seated, my friend and I were offered a warm towel (nice touch!) and were given crispy noodles and a sweet sauce. We ordered the house wonton soup for 2 which was full of broccoli, peas, mushrooms and delicious wontons! Next up, we got a TNT roll (YUM!) to share and we each got the 3 for $10 sushi roll. The sushi was so good! It was fresh and you could tell that the sushi chef took his time in preparing it for us. I enjoyed going here, especially because of the service and the sushi special, but since it is a little far away, I probably won't be by too often. Note, if you try to get here using GPS, like Google Maps - be careful! Use the address for the AMC Theaters instead, perhaps. Google directed me to a residential neighborhood which was really strange.

This is my favorite place to get sushi. They have really good food and the prices are very affordable. Its nice and quiet inside unless you go for lunch/dinner it can be loud. The staff is friendly. I have never had any problems with my food or service.

Not to get too racial or anything...but the WHITE FOLKS need to stop writing reviews for this place. The décor is the only thing good about this place. Being asian-american and having a decent palette I am confident of my review of this place. Anyone who'd rate this place above a 2 star has never tasted good Chinese food or was a victim of some sort of accident involving their brain or tongue. Possibly both. No need to point out all of the issues with the food. Suffice it to say that they missed on both the Chinese and Thai part of the menu. Tried 3 dishes...really struggled to find something worthwhile. Nothing. Either over cooked, over fried, no flavor, or tasted like Lean cuisine Chinese... Their menu covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Chinese plates. Even a broken clock is right twice per day. This place... is worse than the broken clock. Let's not get distracted by the décor folks... the food just plain ol' sucks. That which we call a skunk by any other name would smell as bad... I wouldn't eat here for free. No really, make me an offer. I WOULD NOT eat here for free. Oh BTW... to anyone who'd order sushi at a Chinese joint...do you know anything about food? and how the Chinese restaurants are run?.... ew.

This is our family's #1 Chinese restaurant!! A bit more than the others, but only a little bit and worlds apart in quality. Mary's service is the Best, huge choice on the menu, and the sushi is also Primo!

I appreciate any place that does justice to the complexities of tofu. Unfortunately, too many places just do not take the time needed and their tofu tastes like it was just opened, drained and placed on the plate. Not here.... My boyfriend and I shared our whole meal. We got a scallion pancake, Broccoli & Tofu, and Vegetable Tempura. We loved them all. We were both a huge fan of the tofu because it wasn't fried or mushy. There was a very tasty brown sauce that brought it all together. The Tempura had a selection of onion, sweet potato, mushroom, broccoli, and I think I'm missing some. Either way it was good but I wouldn't say as good as the Broccoli & Tofu. I usually can't eat too much Tempura so it might of just been me. All in all fabulous meal and when we finally move out of the culinary wasteland known Delaware, I hope to move near places such as this where you can get a decent meal.

After reading the reviews on Yelp, we tried this place out. The food scene in and around the 202 Concord Pike area is usually hit or miss but I was pretty pleased with this place. We had a 5:15pm reservation like a bunch of oldies and were the only people in the place for a half hour or so but then it got pretty busy. The staff was super friendly and there were plenty of them. They brought us hot towels and fresh fried noodles as soon as we came in. They were pleasant, answered all of our questions honestly and never tried to "upsell" us. Took everyone's advice on here and split the House Wonton Soup. It was awesome. Huge bowl, tons of veggies and lots of chicken and pork. My boyfriend got 3 bowls and I two. More than enough food for sure. We then split a Hungry Roll and ordered the Chicken Two Ways and Drunken Noodles as entrees. Way way too much food. I don't know what we were thinking! I ordered my noodles "extra spicy" and they were definitely spicy. The chef didn't hold back. Overall, this place is a bit more pricier than other Asian places in the area but the atmosphere, service and quality makes it worth it. Come here for a special event or a date night if you're in the area.

Friendly staff, good food. Really loved the shrimp 2 ways. The spicy red sauce was tasty. Been there 3 or 4 times now and its always been a pleasant experience.

Love, love, love this place! Mary (the owner) and Peter, along with all of the staff are beyond friendly and helpful. The sushi is amazing and it's BYOB. If you don't bring your own, you can enjoy a complimentary glass of wine or beer.

Great food, very nice people. I go there once a week at least for their sushi special (3 rolls for $10 take out or eat in). II've gotten it for 2 different friends who eat sushi regularly and they loved it too.

Having been ignored at TGI Friday's, bf and I decided to walk back to Ming Village which we had passed due to our desire for steak and burgers. The poor service at TGIF was pretty much a blessing since Ming Village surpassed my expectations from the seemingly typical Asian cuisine restaurant. It was a chilly, wet Monday night and my car was being serviced over at the always awesome Garnet VW. We were cheerfully greeted by the hostess/server, Mary, who was walking from the back. The restaurant was mostly empty save for a father with his 4 children in the middle of the restaurant. We were seated along the wall at a booth. There were a variety of seating options. Tables in the center, booths along the wall, tables by the window, sushi seating. We were immediately greeted by another server, Peter, who gave us water (see that, TGIF?), crunchy wontons with duck sauce and HOT TOWELS. I can't remember the last time I was served anything other than hand wipes but nice, fragrant warm towels? I'm already happy. The menu was a mixture of Chinese, Thai and Japanese cuisine. Very much the typically popular entrees. I decided to go with a special Spider Rainbow Roll for $13 and my date ordered chicken and beef skewers and fried dumplings to start, lobster tail roll, eel and spicy salmon. The chicken skewers came with a mild curry sauce that was tasty and the chicken was moist. The beef and dumplings were also very good with nice presentations that put it a tad above your typical Chinese restaurant. As a special, they serve complimentary wine or beer while you wait for your dinner. The choices were Yuengling Lager, Chardonnay and Merlot. The Lobster tail roll was a very nice size and cut pretty thinly. Very yummy. I was also impressed with their eel roll and their spicy mayo on the spicy salmon roll was ACTUALLY SPICY. The spider rainbow roll was the very last entree to arrive and while it was seemingly small compared to the lobster tail roll, it was very tasty. Then a very sweet moment happened. It turns out that it was the father's birthday and his 4 kids had made him a cake and the service brought it out with candles. It brought tears to a lot of people's eyes and I found myself wishing I was that thoughtful when I was a child. Overall, it was a terrific experience after walking out on another restaurant over poor service. Mary, the hostess/server has a terrificly upbeat personality and the other one, Peter, was more quiet but they seem to complement each other very well. On top of that, the food was very satisfying. The restaurant had a nice ambiance although it was also not very busy so therefore very quiet. If we were in the area, we would definitely come back for another visit.

Do not get the shu mai and the scallion pancakes! The food is not authentic at all; they taste as if though the chef just heated up some frozen food and served them. That said, my husband did like his Pad Thai.

Great food - My family and I have eaten here for years. Extensive menu, good service, nice decor, very nice food presentation. I'm not sure why a previous reviewer had such a poor experience but I can assure you that his review in no way reflects my experience. It seems he's trying to destroy someone's business because he had one bad experience. Sunday afternoon at 12:30? How many Asian restaurants are crowded at that time. Perhaps places that serve breakfast. Perhaps Friday's, a national chain. Who cares about condiment caddies? So what if there are little "special" signs at the table? Who cares if there are wall hangings or not? Who cares if they sell costume jewelry at the checkout counter? Sounds like this guy was having a bad day. I'm making a big deal out of this because My family has eaten here for years and have never had a bad experience.

So I was in the sushi mood, and like you already know..sushi junkie right here. I tried the spicy shrimp and scallop, and my husband just had the pepper steak with onion since he can be weird about sushi sometimes. We loved it there, the staff was very friendly, food was delicious, and it is probably some of the best sushi I had ever had. Totally recommend.

I just finished what I could of lunch and wow, that was a disappointment. I live about 10 minutes away from this place and have seen it before but never went in. I was browsing yelp to find a sushi place to try and this came up and got some good reviews so I decided to give it a go (what a mistake). First, its 12:30 on a sunday afternoon, there's not a soul in there (now I know why) which always bothers me a little and gives me an erie sense of the place. Next, there selling cheap pencils and earrings on the front counter (wtf?), the place is decent looking inside, but decorations are sparse with empty walls. Tables have white linens on them, but are all wrinkled, they also have those condiment caddys on the table with a cheap looking laminated "specials" card on them, along with those "McCormick" salt and pepper grinders (again wtf?). I'm not sure how you can expect to sell entrees in the mid to high 20s with the things I've mentioned already. But unfortunately it gets worse. The waitor was arrogant and not very friendly, and was blasting sports center in a dim lit sushi bar. He even went to one of the tables and made a load cell phone call, which I thought was very rude. Next the food, I ordered two rolls and an order of seaweed salad. They came out about 10 minutes later with little presentation. The seaweed salad was clearly packaged and greasy, and was garnished with a shredded crab stick and chopped cucumber from the sushi bar. The sushi was terrible, I mean bad. The rice was all wrong, mushy, flavorless, tasted like instant. The fish not much better, first off it was warm, not sure why, but I like my raw fish chilled. The smoked salmon was dry and fishy and must have been in an open package all week, the spicy tuna, weak, bland flavorless orange mush, no spice to it at all. Even the wasabi was bad, it had no flavor and no kick at all, I mean at all. It was like putting green toothpaste on ur sushi (which actually would have been nice because I feel like I need to brush my teeth now). Sorry for the bad review guys but that sucked. I just hope somebody sees this and doesn't waste their money like I did.

let's start by saying the food was awesome. the decor was nice. it was clean and the "remaining" staff (Mary) were very fun and interesting....... Now the bad part, we were new here. the girl over the phone told us it was BYOB and that because it was a slow night they could to the weekly special of 3 rolls for $10 just for us. so we hauled ass in and whatta ya know.....the girl is gone and nobody knows what I'm talking about. on the up side. if you check in on here (yelp) you get a free appetizer. the next travesty, the guy who took our orders was nice...and smiling.....then he went to go on a delivery order...and no one came to our table for 25 minutes!!!! there was one other table who came in after we did and got their entire meal before us. now like i said they redeemed them selves with the free this and that...and not up-charging for the BYOB but i mean come on...just say..... "I'm sorry i have to make a delivery, and someone else will help you" then the sushi i ordered took a bit only but again it was delicious. either way the boyfriend and i decided maybe we would give this place another chance but i am almost certain its gonna be a to go order unless we REALLY wanna sit and eat. (just as a side note this place is probably great for large parties, they have a lot of space)

We had Sunday lunch at this place and it was not a good experience. Taste wise and portion wise it was plain awful. The service was nice and fast. The ambiance was boring. The value for what was served was not great. We don't live in the area so there is no need to come back, but when we visit our preferred choice for Asian food would be Masamoto.

Good BYOB in Painters Crossing. Nice decor and friendly/quick service. If you're waiting for a take out order, most of the time they'll give you a complimentary beer. The food is delicious, I normally order sushi and pad thai most of the time. I think its a tad pricey, but then again, the BYOB with no corking fees, is hard to beat. Give this little gem a try, you'll be glad you did.

Very nice atmosphere. Good service. I enjoyed the curry chicken, but there wasn't enough rice. They have an extensive menu covering Thai, Japanese, and Chinese cuisine. I had some of my friend's shrimp fried rice and it was tasteless though.
